Tonic, a new nightclub in the heart of Toronto's fashion and threatre district. The club is a reincarnation of sorts for the dance emporium formerly known as Orchid, designed by Yabu Pushelberg in the mid 90's. Tonic is a specialized environment, like a theatre or railway terminal floating free of day-to-day logic and responsibilities. Associationis of motion and transition are played out in a space that is streamlined, neutral and abstracted - a place waiting to be called in to life by people dancing, talking, and gesturing. Beyond the Call of Duty In an area where clubs and lounges are constantly revamping and competing to attract the attention of night birds, the Therapy Lounge aims to push the limits. And it does just that. Dancing the Night Away The Therapy Lounge features a different themes every night. With different events always being planned, you never know what pretence will have you on the dance floor. Then again, sometimes needing a lot of therapy isn’t such a bad thing. Martini Bar, Lounge, Happy Hour, Dance Club - Soul/Funk, Dance Club - Latin/Salsa, Dance Club - House, Dance Club - Hip-Hop/R&B, Dance Club - DJ, Dance Club - Disco, After Work

A friend of mine went to Tonic a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time so I thought I would share some of her thoughts. She said that Tonic had a cool, hip, and colorful atmosphere that a little Asian inspiration. The prices were fair probably because they get a large influx of university students. The music was mostly top 40 and hip-hop. It's a great place if you're looking for a club with a very youthful vibe.

A weak venue with surly staff and not much to offer. I highly recommend skipping Tonic in favour of neighbouring clubs. I certainly won't make the mistake of going to Tonic again.
